Hi,
This is the Bluegrass Series Home page. We'll be looking at my bluegrass/traditional paintings and the history of the songs. The Bluegrass Series started in 2006 with the painting, "All The Pretty Little Horses."
All the Pretty Little Horses (Thumbnail image).
Now there are 22 completed song paintings; the last one completed was Pretty Little Widder. The next several paintings will be train paintings and murder ballads and I'm going to start on John Hardy soon. I'm also planning some gospel songs later this year. I'm hoping I'll have 24 Bluegrass Series paintings by the end of the year.
The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame & Museum on 2590 Richmond Road Renfro Valley, Kentucky 40473 has two of the Bluegrass Series paintings on display, Molly and Tenbooks and Banjo Pickin' Girl.
The original paintings are all for sale. They include an expensive wooden frame and are ready to be hung. Shipping for the large framed paintings will be $50 extra. Don't wait for me to die and the price to go up, up, up. Compared to the stock market investing in these originals are a sure thing- ha ha!
The Bluegrass Series paintings have been professionally digitized. That means you can have high quality reproductions of any of the Bluegrass paintings in any size and on paper or canvas. The cost will vary with the size (any reproduction smaller than 12" by 16" will make it difficult to read the lyrics which are hand painted on the canvas). Contact me and I will get you the size you want on photopaper or canvas. Right now I'm selling 12" by 16" reproductions which are printed on the highest quality glossy photopaper with a foamcore backing. They are just $40 and ready to be hung, no frame is necessary. There is a $5 charge for shipping in the US & Canada.
On the left side of the screen is the title of the painting- click on the title to learn more about each painting and see close-ups of the painting.
If you have any suggestions or corrections please let me know.
